Having a very weird issue with Astro, where it's building my CSS files incorrectly. Looks great on the dev server, then when I build, only about half of my styles are coming in. Anyone else having this issue?

@kevinpowell.co's "CSS Demystified" course is great. I just learned that "unitless" line-height works in ems (so line-height: 0.9 means 0.9 ems). I always thought it was a percentage, like 90% of the "normal" height.

CSS is fun because you can make private jokes in style names. In a testimonials section, I'm styling the name of the person who gave the testimonial as "witness". No one will see the joke unless they view the source!

What's to stop a LLM from being overly verbose and asking me for too much information - in order to make me use up my usage limits faster and want to subscribe to a higher level account? I'm sure others have written about this but I just thought of it right now while having Claude help me...

I have taken to typing messages to Microsoft's Copilot saying I resent it for being in front of the apps I'm trying to access. Today it offered to write me a Python script to find what I was looking for. I don't need a Python script, I just need it to get out of the way!

As I was resizing PowerPoint tables (I know, please send chocolate) it occurs to me that how PowerPoint resizes columns is sort of opaque. I wonder if it uses a similar formula to how browsers calculate flex column widths.... okay, back to the day job....

I asked Claude today to "tell me in Javascript, why ...." I was asking a question about Javascript, and Claude answered. But he answered me in English. This is the difference between an LLM and something that could think logically. :)

I haven't used !important once since I started learning CSS from @kevinpowell.co's courses and videos. Fortunately it hasn't affected my self-esteem. :)

The way I use AI doesn't always require an "intelligent" response. It would be awesome if you could push "Shift + Enter" to post a note to the chat without triggering the AI to "think up" a response. You could set the AI's "non-AI" reply to (e.g.) "So noted"... @claudeai.bsky.social
