@patrickbrosset.com loved your talk yesterday. Good explainer that grid-lines can be a very diverse tool. It reminded me that project wallace uses this to make the CSS report display more dense. Will blog about it, because it's a nice progressive enhancement and @ohhelloana.blog says we have to.

What do you use these days to build simple CLI tools in Node? Is sade still the go-to, or do you go plain node:util parseArgs() and some manual wrangling? I have a CLI tool that has 3-4 subcommands with 1-2 options each. Wonder how many dependecies I'm willing to accept here. Maybe @e18e.dev knows?

It has been 0 days since I tried `:is(::before, ::after)` So I made it a lint rule, because that's my thing now.

Holistic linting comes with some interesting DX struggles: if you want max 6 unique colors in your CSS, do you: A: mark the whole stylesheet as error and give 1 error B: mark every unique color after the 6th as an error C: mark all colors as error And what end up in the error message?

You can't make this shit up. Important family event DURING the afternoon of first CSS Day. I kid you not. Every year there's something throwing my schedule into a mess. Every. Single. Fucking. Time.

Made Wallace's CSS parser 20-30% faster over the weekend. Inlined some functions in hot code paths (fewer function calls, slightly bigger bundle size), and made it avoid some work (not iterating over all string chars inside a comment, but skip to the end with `source.indexOf('*/)`).

I want to wrap up a v1 release of my projectwallace/stylelint-plugin in the coming days. Does anyone want to help me giving it a test drive on their codebase?

Ooh, just realised I can incorporate the wallace stylelint plugin with existing pages on the website. This also sort of clears the way for the css-analyzer to be a more un-opinionated analyzer and the linter for flagging issues. Still, the analyzer can expose tons of little functions to do analysis.
