Melbourne, I'm a little over this weather!

I'm a little unmotivated today. I made myself a moccha.

Me to hubby- please get rid of the Huntsman in the kitchen before you go to bed. It's only a baby one but I hate them!

My sister's at the AC/DC concert in Melbourne tonight. I'm glad it's not me!

This weekend I managed a 5km Parkrun, several small walks with the dog, planting out herbs and marigolds, coffee with grumpy SIL, made pasta and sauce from scratch and a 1km swim. It was a good weekend! 😌

Oh my! We just had the loudest crack of thunder over the house. It's dreadful out there.

She's happy! Dry, but it was close.

It was better than we both thought. We misjudged. She's a lonely old woman. She's struggling with her daughter's mental health. She's in conflict with all the other siblings! We went to a cafe and she paid for it! No ulterior motive- she genuinely wanted a catch up.

Poor Rosie! We've left her under the pergola! Heavy rain comes in. We're on our way home now. She'll be excited to see us!

Off to have morning tea with the grumpy and angry SIL. We suspect there's an ulterior motive as she's invited us to her house. I've never been there and hubby hasn't been there for 20 yrs.

Here's the finished dish. The sauce is simple and extra easy to make. It takes time rolling out the pasta,but it's a traditional dish that the whole family is supposed to help with. We had it as part of a 4 course meal in Siena. Today we had it on it's own.

I'm making Pici pasta for dinner. It got a tomato sauce with a pseudo pesto, as it's not made with a mortar & pestle. Pici pasta is made with water and flour, not egg. This was a dish from our cooking school in Siena.

Son's working at the same ice cream factory as last year for this uni break. This flavour was delicious.

Hubby had left over curry for dinner, I had left over roast veggies with halloumi. It was a clear out the fridge night.

I used AI to price some runners. I asked why is there such a price difference btw men's and women's shoes. This was one of the reasons. Retailer pricing strategy: Some sellers use dynamic pricing based on demand, search trends, or even gender-targeted marketing. It’s not always fair—but it happens.

Sorted. It's at our house. Hubby spoke to his sister. Normally his famiy get together early Dec. We've hosted but then it shifted to a pub meal. No family gathering on that side this year. Apparently there's a consensus that there's too much tension and it doesn't work. We weren't asked our opinion!

I think Mum is expecting Christmas at my house. One sister is working again, and other sister has a lot on her plate. I'm not enthused about it but I don't want her to do it.

I decided on a chicken curry. I added lentils and spinach leaves. It was servedcqirh basmati rice, roti bread and onion bhaji that I found in the supermarket freezer. There's plenty left over for a few lunches during the week. Thanks, @an-leavy.bsky.social for an idea. We were happy with it.

We had a good day building the shed. Stepson has his girlfriend over. We'd only met her once. She got stuck into it & was great. My son was helping too. We ended up staying for pizza. Also rang and invited step daughter & her boyfriend. Lots of wine involved! It was a really good day.

It was an exhausting day.

We didn't get the doors on! But a good day, none the less.

Hubby's always so proud of his bread slicing ability. This is freehand. It's a skill!

I finished part 1 of our holiday. I fitted 5 cities in 120 pages. 4 cities to go! I'll do another 120 pages as we have heaps of photos of Siena, Tuscany and Rome. Not to forget Florence. I'll start that next week. We've got a busy few days planned. It's quick once you get onto the swing of it.

Very happy for my son. He chose to return to uni as a mature age student. He's about to finish his Assoc degree. He's been accepted into the Bachelor degree. In 2 years he'll be able to call himself an engineer if all goes well. 👨‍🎓
