Dinner tonight was a delicious plowman’s pork pie from the farmers market with salad. Pie looks small but it was very filling. 🥧🍜🍽️🥗🥚🥒

Tonight for dinner we had bucatini with beef, beer & bacon ragu, hiden under quite a lot of Parmesan. Sauce was frozen but it’s been too hot for cosy dinners. 🍜🍽️🥩🥓🍺🥕🌿🧅🧄

Woohoo. Just had a call from Peter Mac - nodule I’d detected under my arm (ultrasound last week) nothing to worry about. They said it all looked normal. Phew. Now I can go back to managing tile & plasterboard deliveries (they of course all came at once). 🚚 🚛

Adventures in renovation land. We had no hot water this morning - suspicious after plumber working here yesterday. The chippie arrived and fixed it.

We have a bath and plumbing rough in. Everything in the places I wanted them. If the designers say no ask the tradies. Tomorrow we’ll have a floor and plastering starting soon. Our living room is much better minus the bath. 🛀

Something has gone wrong with my solar panels. I have turned them off and on again too.

Day 1 of reno. Hardly game to say it went very smoothly and the chippies are very nice and easy to have in the house. They finished early, cleaned up which feels like a bonus.

We’re just about finished moving furniture and getting ready for reno starting tomorrow morning. Compared to other renos this one is a lot easier, so far. I also think I have less f*^ks to give after the last 7 months. New bathroom - here we come.

This morning Peri earned her keep, she tracked and ate a blow fly that was driving us crazy. 😜 What an athlete and protector. Now she’ll have a nap. My husband hoped it doesn’t upset her tummy - this is the same dog that eats possum 💩 given the chance. #DogsOfBluesky

I don’t know what to do with this. My very dear American friend who’s planning a trip here. “As far as politics here, we just shake our head and hope for the best….” I’m so conflicted, do I warn of anti American sentiments or let them discover themselves.

Today I taught a neighbour to make pastry. Unfortunately she got a migraine so had to rush home before the tart was out of the oven. I dropped a care package over to her after she’d had a sleep. It was delicious. 🍽️🍜🍑🥧
