It really shouldn’t take a court order to get our government to feed the hungry, but here we are. There has been enough agreement on both sides of the aisle to get this done, now hopefully the President and his administration will get back to the work of serving the people.

Vermont is doing its job. Tennessee has the funds to extend SNAP benefits through the government shutdown, while House/Senate Dems are calling for a Special Session to get it done. Gov. Lee, however, has decided feeding folks isn’t a priority. It’s politics over people.

Per capita over the last 15 years, Tennessee has lost the most rural hospitals due to our Republican State Legislature’s refusal to expand Medicaid. The loss of 9 additional hospitals would be devastating.

We decided to launch @eastmemphisdems.bsky.social to serve our community, and nearly 100 voters came to our first meeting, ready to work! Sometimes, all you have to do is take that step, and you’ll be surrounded by folks ready to fight alongside you. Don’t get complacent. GET ORGANIZED!

A little work can go a long way. Just under 100 Democrats joined us for our first meeting, sharing their concerns with what’s happening here in Memphis and throughout our country. We’re looking forward to grow this club with you all and can’t wait to see what the future has in store.

Rep. Kustoff R-TN canceled his event at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church due to “safety concerns.” The Germantown Democratic Club was organizing the sign waving/protest. With respect, if you’ve been to a meeting, their membership profile doesn’t scream “this protest might get violent!”

Being a parent of 10 and 3 year old girls is a constant rubber band effect of: “Oh my god, I don’t think I could love them more.” And “This is why some animals eat their own offspring.”

My baby girl has gotten so big. Turned ten just a few days ago, but it feels like yesterday when we brought her home. I’m so exited to watch her adventure unfold!

While running deliveries this morning, I’m having to carry around and cuddle my ticket printer because it’s so cold! Won’t charge/print below 0 degrees C.
