Vermont is doing its job. Tennessee has the funds to extend SNAP benefits through the government shutdown, while House/Senate Dems are calling for a Special Session to get it done. Gov. Lee, however, has decided feeding folks isn’t a priority. It’s politics over people.

Today, Mike Johnson will keep the House adjourned for the 80th day out of the last 92. The senate has been working, so this is not about the shutdown. It is about avoiding a vote to release the Epstein files.

Monday, June 23rd, the Shelby County Commission will vote on funding for a focused crime lab in Shelby County. We need your help. Please email your county commissioner and respectfully ask them to fund the lab so we can increase the solve rate of crimes and hold offenders accountable.

On Juneteenth, we celebrate freedom and recommit ourselves to the work that remains undone. We remember that even in the darkest hours, there is cause to hope for tomorrow’s light.

Today, we celebrate freedom while recognizing that that fight is far from over. Happy Juneteenth.
