If I were Apple Music, I'd *really* be leaning into their API strategy as Spotify is starting to walk away from theirs. I think the Parachord experience with the Apple Music plugin is close to being better than with Spotify.

I just ran my new song thru a real-time music genre classifier and it apparently bounces around from chiptune to alternative rock to dance pop to shoegaze to punk to folk metal. 🤷‍♂ To me it's got a sort of a late '80's/early '90s throwback vibe, and I am really into it. Coming the week of 4/6.

Alright, I finally created a @parachord.bsky.social account to reduce the crossing of the streams a bit. Ugh, so the bug that had users on newer Macs inadvertently downloading the Intel-silicon version of Parachord was worse than I thought. If you're on Mac and the app feels sluggish at all - this is the issue.

I just fixed a Parachord bug with manually importing Spotify and Apple Music playlists - so I also added support to drag/drop them directly: into Playlists to save them or onto the playbar (or queue) to just listen.m(Or you can also use the browser extensions). Available now. parachord.com

Too many indie artists aren't in MusicBrainz (but you really should add yourself!), so I added a few fallback sources and better name validation for artist lookups to make sure no one falls through the cracks or gets mismatched.

I'm so glad to see @plamere.bsky.social rebuilding SmarterPlaylists and even happier to see when my Parachord browser extension just magically works in the type of scenarios I build it for. ☺️

In addition to dark mode, next week I will ship concert recommendations and artist dates with multiple event plug-in providers. Also, a tiny thing I've wanted for a long time - just a little indicator to show if the artist you are currently listening to has an upcoming show near you.

I was pretty productive today. I fixed a lot of Parachord bugs, improved the Friend feed, added customizable embeds on the smartlink pages and pushed an update. (No concert dates in this one, but hopefully soon.) Time to put down the laptop and pick up a guitar and a beer. 🍻
