I don't believe in psychics, fortune-telling, hauntings, & the like, but I wish they were real. The fair is right up the street, too.

#HorrorWritersChat You rip out the tooth, its blood gleaming with opportunity. I'm sick of those who destroy without impunity. For it is not you to whom I serve. May you get what you deserve. That's not a bad start for a curse.

#HorrorWritersChat Although I initially said I didn't think my victims could lift their curses, there may be one way - apologize for hurting me so badly and mean it. I don't have to forgive you. Probably won't. But if you're sincere, the pain may subside some until the curse runs its course.

#HorrorWritersChat Those two times I cast those curses I was under great emotional distress. I think that's why they worked. I don't think my victims could remove them. The curse would have to run its course. I could lift it, though, if I wanted to. I didn't. Talk about a rush of power & control!

#HorrorWritersChat Mine would bring rotten ends to rotten people, in ironic or fitting methods. A grifter would scam the wrong person, for example; an abuser would get to spend a few hours knowing how their victim feels, etc. I think these spells would need personal items of the people they hurt.

I try not to cast direct curses since I’m still inexperienced, but rather help karma along the way. For example, a simple justice spell can help aid people unjustly charged and bring those who walk free to their rightful punishment. The universe will handle the rest. 🙌 #HorrorWritersChat

#HorrorWritersChat I've done that. Again. I was mad at a former friend and muttered, "May you get what you deserve." Her car broke down on her way home with her loser boyfriend. It only got worse. She even said, "it's like I'm cursed or something". Yikes! I should keep my thoughts to myself. 💭

#WriteStuff Q6: I've inspired other writers by giving them support and sometimes helping them write their stories. I answer any questions they have. I'm the Media Director for The Horror Zine, which puts me in a great position to play muse.

#WriteStuff Q5: I've been inspired to write a horror comedy novel, but I haven't gotten around to it mainly because I'm afraid after all that hard work writing & submitting it, it won't sell or otherwise find readers. All that hard work for naught. Instead, I write short stories. They're easier.

#WriteStuff Q4: Oh, yeah! When I figured out how to end my short horror story, I cheered inside. Endings usually vex me. Not this time. There are clues at to what happens throughout the story, but the ending will still shock everyone. Good!

#WriteStuff Q3: I've been in a bit of a fiction writing slump lately. Inspiration hasn't been there at all until today. I was inspired by a horror movie I had watched. My plot is worked out but I don't know the details yet. Need to think about it and make it horrific. Should be easy enough.

#WriteStuff Q2: I often get inspiration from books I've read, TV/movies I've seen, and weird news I find online. My latest story was inspired by a horror movie I had watched recently. I also get inspiration walking on the beaches near my home. It's calming and I may daydream plots and characters.

#WriteStuff My husband inspires my writing since he supports my work. I have interviewed plenty of horror folk (incl. Ramsey Campbell, Joe Lansdale, and Bruce Campbell), and each one of them inspires me since I get to see the progress they've made in their careers. It keeps me going.
