6 . Then we have anachronisms mixed with pop culture. We talk about Nero fiddling while Rome burned, as one example, but the violin didn't exist until the 1500s. What are some of your favorite anachronisms associated with historical myth and legend? #WriteStuff

5 . What is one historical event that you wish you could see? Would you be a spectator or participant? And yes, concerts count! #WriteStuff

4. There's also the concept of a person or thing invading a backstory. This concept happens in season five of Buffy: the Vampire Slayer with a new character suddenly appearing and no one noticing. Have you ever seen a hijacked backstory? Or written one? #WriteStuff

3. Do you immerse your characters in real or fictional history? Have they participated in significant events in their world or ours? #WriteStuff

#Writestuff A1 *Write* them? As in having some written file somewhere with a narrative? No ... but I certainly know the shape of each character's life and the notable events that formed them.

Speaking of history that certain parties want to suppress...today is remember the Trail of Tears and when white Americans declared Native tribes "illegal" to deport them off their land. #WriteStuff

2. History has certainly become interesting, with the phrase being that it's "written by the winners". We even see cases of textbooks being rewritten, something referenced in 1984 and The LEGO Movie. What parts of history do you find most interesting or morbidly fascinating? #WriteStuff

Writing prompt -- a browse through an obituary database can provide interesting plot points and background for your story. Snark aside, the ones that provide details of death provide details of what people *did* during the time period you are writing about.
