I spotted a Snowy Egret at a harbor when I was visiting CA awhile back. These birds were hunted to near extinction for their beautiful feathers until they were protected by the Migratory Bird Treaty Act of 1918. Now with the population increasing they are no longer near extinction. #birding #bird
