Serious situation on Haida Gwaii - the north end of the island is completely cut off from the south end. The hwy is washed out at jungle beach, sections of pavement gone. The Yakoun River is flooded + the back road is impassable at several points. No way to get to ferry, no freight delivery

Hwy 16 on Haida Gwaii has been closed due to a washout from extensive flooding at Jungle Beach. They are waiting until first light tomorrow to assess the damage.

Getting critical supplies to remote Indigenous communities shouldn't have a profit motive behind it. Canada Post workers deserve good pay and benefits and its in the common interest if a public service that operates at a loss. Better than selling weapons to the US (who then send them to Israel)
