On Monday, I'll join the Italian national strike for Gaza. But retracting labour is hardly enough. I'll dedicate my next lecture in history at Unibo to discuss imperialism, Nationalism and the histories of Palestine in the 20th century. Most importantly, stop the war! Let all people live in peace.

Really enjoyed teaching a session on global capitalism for my MA course reading works by @tsasson.bsky.social @zeithistoriker.bsky.social and Jamie Martin, which generated a lively discussion on sovereignty, moral economy and neoliberalism.

My new MA class on 'global networks and political visions' is more popular than I anticipated, with over 40 students instead of 20. It was challenging/fun to find 20 more readings to assign for their individual presentations!

On my way to Pisa where I'll be giving the keynote lecture at the meeting of the Italian society for contemporary history (sisco), on nationalism and global challenges.

Things I see in italian bookstores (I thought it was ironic but no, the book demands we thank the West for all the good it has done for the Chinese, Africans, etc..). An impressive blend of ignorance and hyperbolic prose, captures the spirit of the moment.

My great satisfaction at book talks is when readers actually get it that my first and second books are essentially about the same topic.

I start teaching a brand new MA course today on global political visions at Unibo, exciting!

Just got back in this place, hopefully less toxic and more fun!

My new book, Air and Love, will be out in May. It's a history of migration and belonging, through the story - and food - of one family. Now more than ever, it's time to think about displacement and its legacies.
