Eliza McLamb had an apt analogy abt modern fandoms: Fans no longer treat creators as creators. Fans treat creators like stock options they’ve invested in; like they’re part owners of a creator’s work just by *being fans*, and therefore get a say in what creators make/how they act. And it sucks.

Part of being a responsible leader is refusing to do this shit to yourself. This is the only type of trickle-down economics corporations recognize - the insane crap that the guys at the top will do for productivity, which they in turn expect of everyone under them. This should never have been.

Update #2: Quicksilver, a detector for AI-generated music. Most folks today are not aware that AI-generated music (entire songs generated by AI models) are growing rapidly. Today, there are more AI-generated songs than human-created songs arriving each week on platforms like Spotify.

Its not a hot take but man the way the word "content" is used these days. A vile bit of late stage capitalist propaganda, lumping all forms of human creativity and expression into a single wastebin teaching the public to treat all art as disposable.
