I think Trump coming out and openly claiming credit has turned this from the red card scandal to a larger existential issue for FIFA and Infantino. I donāt think UEFA is going to let this go.

THREE extremely unethical situations at the World Cup require more football stakeholders to challenge wrongs. 1. Banishment of the Somali referee 2. Balogun red card political interference 3. Treatment of Iran team Players/managers/officials/administrators. Pressure on FIFA should be unrelenting.

hell yeah baby keep it coming (this is easily one of FIFA's worst rules in practice, functioning to prevent FIFA-unfriendly governments from leveraging their power against FIFA while allowing friendly governments to do whatever they want.) but whatever, let's go, all gas no brakes

I hate to inflict this man on you, but this is extraordinary in its ignorance of football and the rules of the game, and essentially says he called in a favour from 'Johnny' Infantino to get the suspension overturned. This is genuine disgrace.

Iām so proud to be Mexican. Every day. Iām proud that the world got to see the Mexico Iāve seen my whole life. Iām proud that we took the game to one of the favorites for 90 minutes. Itās hard to have my literal entire family in Mexico. I wish I could have been there for these matches.

Of course Landon Donovan is happy with the decision to suspend Balogunās red card. Seeing a lot of people that were proud of Tim Ream for refusing to speak to Tr*mp celebrating this decision. Weird behavior.

So this is it: Infantino is doing his friendĀ āĀ who he gave a made-up peace prize to so he could brown-nose his way to more influence āĀ a favour. This World Cup was already tainted before now, this takes it to a different level. Infantino's ghoulish, obsequious corruption is pathetic. He has to go.

This is just pure, unadulterated corruption. Nothing against Flo Balogun obviously, although I think it was red, but you can't pick and choose when rules apply. Belgium should be furious.

Overturning the Balogun suspension is absolutely insane work. Not that Infantino has made any attempt to hide his corruption or ties with Trump, but FIFA canāt just pick and choose who the rules apply to/for. I thought the red card was harsh but rules are rules. What a joke.
