CMP’s rate hike request is bad because it will increase their profits by raising consumer rates to pay for it. Portland Hub member Marcia Taylor testified about how increasing rates will impact her neighbors struggling to get by in this economy, Tom Mikulka & Dick Thomas testified in person also.

Fight The Hike consists of 14 Maine environmental groups brought together by Seth Berry, founder of Our Power. Protesters enacted a tug of war between corporate greed and Maine ratepayers wearing colorful costumes backed up by lots of signs and banners.
