In 2020, I attempted to copy one of the Fayoum portraits using casein tempera. The Fayoum portraits are part of an ancient portrait tradition that informed the practice of Byzantine iconography. The originals were done in encaustic but I have no experience with that. #fayoum #art #traditionalart

Just called all my (R) representatives to oppose any attempts to defund or privatize the VA. I work with veterans and there simply is not enough mental health infrastructure to handle the mental health care of Tennessee veterans. We depend on the VA and PSLF to get enough psychologists here.
