I've said it before, but it really feels like Scorsese directed the whole of CAPE FEAR to fit alongside the vibe of Herrmann's iconic theme.

No matter how many times I watch CAPE FEAR(1991), I will never get tired of Nolte and Lange's arguments. One of the better "married couple screams at each other constantly" in a Scorsese career full of them.

It never stops being remarkable to me how natural and easy Catherine Scorsese is on camera.

This isn't a particularly novel observation, but BLOW OUT really is Travolta's peak as an actor.

At absolute worst this is a magnificent star vehicle for Minnelli.

I don't know what Scorsese originally intended NEW YORK, NEW YORK to be, but what we ended up with feels like a complete immolation of the MGM musical, the meet-cute premise, and showbiz romance.

One of his best The commentary with Zemeckis, Gale, and Russell is a hoot, just two hours of them telling stories and laughing their asses off.

Idk if it was Sayles taking advantage of the man at his disposal or Richardson pushing him, but CITY OF HOPE is so different visually from anything else he's ever made.
