The gendered designs in Bravern are kind of funny—I'm very used to 'realistic males, anime girls' as a design ethos, but I've never seen it in a series where the girls are the side characters and the focus is the men.

Bravern consistently takes me out right at the knees with the serious moments pivoting into comedy. Though even so, the waterboarding gag leaves more than a bit of a bad taste. Smith's rejected proposal to Bravern killed me though (and will keep him up at night for the rest of his life, probably)

Endless Waltz was pretty good. Unsurprisingly the art and writing benefited from being a movie—particularly the designs for the actual Gundams with their fancy wings lol. Not even a little surprised Wu Fei became a Nazi youth though

Sentenced to be a Hero also seems like it's going to be interesting. Dark fantasy and revenge stories aren't usually my things, but the action is definitely good so far

Riverdale is very much aping Twin Peaks from the moment go, so I'm curious to see how fast it gets really weird—I've certainly seen enough of the deranged clips and lines out of context

I just finished watching Wake Up Dead Man, and it is such a powerful, well written movie. A very enthralling mystery, overflowing with empathy, sprinkled with comedy, and a surprising amount of pathos. Can't recommend it enough.
