Today, Bradford remembered the Bradford Pals battalions - the friends and neighbours who signed up to fight alongside one another in the Great War. 109 years ago today, some 1770 Pals were killed or injured on the first day of the horrific Battle of the Somme. We will remember.

This morning, I caught up with SBSJ head Mr Bentley and Mgsr Paul Grogan. After successfully securing SBSJ bus services for another year, we kicked off the campaign to make sure a permanent solution is found so students can keep getting to school safely and on time.

How wonderful to welcome pupils from St Oswald's Primary to Parliament this week, to learn all about the role of MPs and my role as Commons Deputy Speaker. It's always a welcome treat to welcome Bradford South schools to Westminster!

175 dangerous driving offences tackled in Bradford South last month thanks to targeted police work via Operation Steerside! A huge thanks to Insp Beecroft and the team at West Yorkshire Polive, working together to keep our streets safe.

It was fantastic to catch up with Brake, the road safety charity. I have long championed improving road safety, and it was great to talk about their work to make our roads safer for driver, passengers and pedestrians.

I met with Kit from St John Ambulance to hear how their 'Switch on to Spiking' campaign is aiming to teach 15,000 young people how to recognise and respond to spiking. We also spoke about training the nation on first aid and ensuring accessibility to life-saving defibrillators.
