Parrots??! In a game about Pirates? Ludicrous!

If you're @terminalcitycon.ca this weekend, our game is "Tis Mutiny", a pirate adventure game of shifting allegiances that's an excuse to sit around the table for 30 minutes and shout "YARRR!" a lot. Expecting to be late into Proto Alley today, maybe 11am. Friday was a late night!

Had full intentions keeping up with social media at @terminalcitycon.ca today. But we were *swamped* from 3pm to 10pm with people coming by Proto Alley. What an incredible Friday convention - organizers, you should feel proud of the achievement. Now to get my voice back for tomorrow!

Trying to convey the size of a 9x9 rulebook. Banana for scale. Super rough draft. Trying to work out a general layout - very different from Google docs. Left page/Right page really matters when trying to explain a concept.

Still looking for a good alternative to selling our card game on Amazon in the US. If there was a "I can't believe it's not Amazon (with vastly superior working conditions)" we'd move in a heartbeat. Reaching out to 100 FLGSs would be cool, but wildly impractical and labour intensive for an indie.

Board game designers: Use gender neutral language in your rules when referring to a generic player! "The player takes their turn by rolling their dice". Never assume "he/him". Also, player examples need more gender diversity: "Betty looks at her hand. Alex moves their token. John plays his card".

Support indie game devs. Board game. Video game. "Dad, make up a bedtime story!" game.

A heads up to anyone who wants to snag a copy of Cult Following for the holidays. Looking at these numbers you're going to want to do that in the next 2-3 days, tops.

Each of Tis Mutiny's weapon and rum cards are uniquely named. Sometimes we're uncertain if the names we pick are genius or if we're just phoning it in.

Would have loved to have gone to PAX Unplugged this weekend to show our new game (we'd hoped to run our Kickstarter while we were there), but it needs about another 3 months of refinement and just wouldn't have been ready in time. It's *so* fun though, we can't wait to share.

Sometimes, not everyone wins in a semi-coop game. Tis Mutiny's fate cards allow players who didn't fulfill an aspiration to have their own end-game narrative. Every player deserves a story at the end of the game.

In This Mutiny, Legends are where adventurous and desperate aspirations are fulfilled. These cards are the wild hijinx to every pirate adventure. Each game has 3 legends. Legends are modular and can be swapped out with other story packs to change up the next game.

Pirate Hunters are Tis Mutiny's basic hazard. If you Raid a Port or Ship, that card is removed from the game and a Pirate Hunter is "Foreshadowed" (added to the bottom of the Horizon deck), making the seas more dangerous as the game progresses.

Our artist came up with the flavour text on this card for 'Tis Mutiny. It's become the gold standard for other flavour text. Anyone want to go dig up some treasure?

Our new game, Tis Mutiny, is coming along nicely. We had a 5 game playtest session. Games were hilarious and all about 20-25 minutes long. Just a little more fine tuning and we should be all set. And our card art is gorgeous. #boardgames

Trevor has been on BlueSky for over a year now, but decided to move over to BlueSky full time last week. We still had 3 different accounts over on X though. :| We had the brainwave this morning this would be an excellent time to consolidate our 3 accounts into 1 over here.
