Less hangry now, tested the HDMI CEC commands on my TV at home and they work perfectly. Now I know I'm not a dummy and was doing everything correctly, it was the new Samsung TVs that apparently require some special sacrifice in order to honor a standby command which I've yet to figure out.

I never want to see another HDMI CEC traffic log again in my life after the 8 hours of hell I just went through with a stupid piece of shit Samsung TV choosing to just ignore the commands with no apparent reason other than to drive me further insane.

You ever just minding your own business, maybe listening to some music, or watching a video, and suddenly your brain asks, "Where did I go wrong in life?" Seems to be happening more often these days.

Upgraded my network rack UPS to a rackmount CyberPower, and it looks awesome!

Turn off fast boot. Rest the BIOS. Re-flash the BIOS. Try a different power cable. Reseat the card. Try to update the card firmware. Boot without card then with card. Enable ReBAR. GPU upgrade just turned into a whole computer upgrade.

Bought a new graphics card, installed it, PC wouldn't boot. Plug into the integrated graphics, boots up, thinking just a driver / BIOS config issue no biggie. Nope. PC won't boot without a monitor connected to integrated graphics. Once booted it flips over to new GPU and runs normally. :(

Say hello to the newest member of the homelab family, the Arista 7050QX-32S. That's 32 ports of 40 Gbps QSFP+ networking power.

I'm on the hunt for some new homelab gear. I found some Arista 32 port QSFP+ switches on ebay so I can start down the 40 gig rabbit hole (and all the different optic flavors), but I'm not sure if Arista is homelab friendly (in terms of licensing / resources).

Couldn't resist adding another channel to the CWDM link between my core switches, now up to 30 GbE! I can add 1 more 10 GbE channel to it but at $99 per transceiver might have to wait another month to max it out.

My electronics work bench is an old glass top desk that I put an ESD mat on, and works great but has one downside: the sides are not lamp clamp friendly... So I designed and 3D printed plates to make it clamp friendly! It's really hard to get a perfect match for the arc, anybody have tips?
