Not a lot to excite last night in VC57. Seven each of Lunar Underwing, Dusky Thorn and Common Wainscot, 3 Light Emerald, 2 Angle Shades, Black Rustic, and Tinea semifulvella were the best of it. #TeamMoth

A good night here in Cromford with 101/32 (crazy numbers for mid-Sept here). Scarce Bordered Straw nfm, Clifden Nonpareil, Grey Pine Carpet nfy, Brown-spot Pinion nfy, a crazy 14 Pale Mottled Willow, Black Rustic, Angle Shades, 7 Lunar Underwing and a decent micro. #TeamMoth

Cromford Moor, in breezy conditions last night, produced hardly any moths (6/6) 😑 However, Pine Carpet was nfy, and I'm fairly confident the moth I trod on was a lifer in Heath Rustic 🤨😪. I'll have to return and get a decent one. #TeamMoth 28/13 from the garden with nothing of note.

A warm but clear night yielded 52/25 in VC57. Another Dewick's Plusia (4th this year) was no doubt attracted by the Ni lure. #TeamMoth Little else of great interest.

A poor session here (VC57) with 38/13. A real autumn feel this morning with Siskins calling over the garden. The only moths of note were Old Lady, Burnished Brass, Eudonia angustea, and what is probably a 2nd gen Riband Wave. #TeamMoth

I ran the actinic at my daughter's last night. Cloud was forecast, but I woke to a sky full of stars at 0400hr. White-point was nfy, and only my 2nd ever. Little else to excite; Broad-bordered Yellow Underwing, Purple Bar, Pale Mottled Willow. #TeamMoth

Another rubbish trap here in Cromford (97/36). There was one moment of euphoria, though, with the appearance (finally) of the rabbit! 🐇 Silver Y, C-b Sallow, Six-striped Rustic 2, Orange Swift, Chinese Character, Y-bB 3, M italica. #TeamMoth

Only 34 species last night in cool and wet conditions. Udea ferrugalis (Rusty Dot Pearl) was nfy. Tawny Speckled Pug, 7 Double-striped Pug, Plutella xylostella, Scrobipalpa ocellatella. I'm not sure I've had Nettle-tap to light before 🤔, but 1 last night. #TeamMoth

What an odd moth the Coxcomb Prominent is. It can play the drama queen as well as any. I spent a while trying to get a head-on shot in focus, with limited success. It's certainly one for the real photographers to play about with. #TeamMoth
