Had a good panel at the #WorldGovSummit where we discussed Innovative strategies for universal health coverage & reducing health inequalities. I focused on messages from @TheLancet #Globalhealth2050 as well as the need to focus on prevention, progressive universalism & pandemic preparedness.

Great to be attending the #WorldGovSummit in Dubai. Just spoke at their Ministerial meeting on XDGs for 2045 discussing the need for Prevention in Health Care and for Pandemics as critical pathways for all countries and the need for equitable provision of our preventive tools.

Very happy to see that the IAVI rVSV Ebola Sudan Vaccine Clinical trial has started today in Uganda. 45 contacts have been identified & 6 already have some symptoms so hopefully the vaccine will show efficacy in the @WHO ring vaccine trial & then can be used more widely for outbreak control.

Sad another outbreak of #Ebola Sudan is in Uganda. But good 2160 doses of the IAVI rVSV Sudan Ebola Vax are in country from last outbreak when they arrived too late 2B tested. Hopefully a clinical trial can start soon. Hlth Min Ocero & PS Atwine have experience w/ this disease. We are with you.

Really great to attend the launch of the new EU Pandemic Viral Vector Vaccine Facility at Bilthoven in the Netherlands. A partnership btw HERA, Serum Institute of India & Bilthoven, they will keep warm a facility with a capacity of >80 M doses to assure European Preparedness.
