Monday - Wednesday this week we are learning different mental strategies to subtract numbers. We partitioned (break down the numbers) into smaller more manageable numbers.

On Thursdays be Fridays we are learning to tell the time on analogue and digital clocks. ⏰

We begin looking at different strategies to work out subtraction calculations this week. We started with column calculations. Sumdog tasks are focusing on subtraction and can be completed at home as well.

This week we have been creating our very own maths addition board games in groups. We then got the chance to test out other groups games to see if they worked.

Today we put our knowledge of symmetry to the test by trying to draw the mirrored image of different Christmas designs 🎄 🎅

We watched ‘An Elf story’ and paused it on a cliff hanger. We created our own ending to the story! Once we were finished we peer assessed our work to ensure we had capital letters in the correct place and it made sense. 📖 ✍️

This afternoon we focused on being very descriptive to describe a character/scene to allow ai to create an image of this. We ensured we added lots of adjectives to help ai get a clearer picture of what we wanted. The results are amazing!

This letter was sent home yesterday regarding class reward on Thursday.

We worked in groups to place Roman events in order.

On Mondays we write about our weekend then share it with a partner to ensure it makes sense and that we have included capital letters and full stops.

This week is also Book Week - P4T chose two characters from different books and wrote about what happened when these characters met.

This week we have been completing online SNSAs then working on our addition through active learning stations and Sumdog

Merging numeracy and spelling as we make our spelling words and count how much each word is worth.

Yesterday we had a visit from @rhetfvci to take part in some moo maths - we loved milking the cow and measuring how much we had produced 🐄

For Halloween last week we completed a roll and draw witch, stain or pumpkin to create our very own unique drawings. Here are some of the final designs.

Today we began our badminton focus in PE. We began by trying to hit the shuttlecock in a straight line. 🏸

Working in small groups to discuss and research different religions symbols,books and places of worship

Some maths stations today revising our 2D shapes. Matching, Sumdog, QR codes and challenge cards ⏺️⏹️◀️

This term we are focusing on addition and subtraction in numeracy. We began by refreshing our memory with addition stations.

Today we used Sumdog to complete an end of term test. A reminder that tasks are set on Sumdog and although they are ‘complete’ you can answer more questions in each task.

On Thursday we were all working so hard on our persuasive writing and we are so excited to share these with you at sharing the learning on Thursday ✍️
