The president was in Pennsylvania the other night raving about how we should be getting our kids less for Christmas. He's completely out of touch. It's not a radical opinion that Americans should be able to afford their necessities and afford gifts for their loved ones.

Trump called the cost-of-living crisis a "con," but now he's in Pennsylvania claiming he's lowering costs. His empty promises are the real con — and Pennsylvanians aren't buying it. This is the same guy raising prices with his tariff taxes and taking health care from Americans.

Trump said he'd lower costs "on day one." Well, here we are a year later, and prices have only gone up. Instead of making life easier, Trump is imposing a national sales tax on Americans through his tariffs. His promises were nothing but a con job.

Trump has had a "concept" of a health care plan for 10 years now. But we finally saw his real plan this summer with Republicans’ Big Ugly Law. He cut health care for millions of Americans and raised premiums for tens of millions more to fund tax breaks for billionaires.

This is what Americans elected in 2024: a man who had clearly demonstrated his unwillingness to accept unwelcome information. It shouldn’t surprise anyone that he’s doing the same thing now.

Billionaires like the president and his cabinet aren't going to grocery stores, but working Americans are. They know the truth: Donald Trump is responsible for rising costs. His disastrous new tariff taxes and economic chaos have only made things worse.

The safest bet in Washington is that so-called "moderate" Republicans will always fold to Trump. They never stand up to him when it counts. This summer, he asked them to support the biggest health care cuts in American history, and they passed it with glee.
