A great example of what’s forced me to change my views on publication. I submitted my first manuscript to this agency! Agents and publishers are simply people doing a job - they are not well equipped to help you. No one on earth can elevate your work to legitimacy. Except the reader!

Today was attempt number 5 at the start of the new book. The opening scene is feeling better I think. Characters are sort of starting to take shape but the main character Charlie is still largely a mystery to me.

admittedly at least half if not more of those rejections are from an earlier draft that got reworked significantly. But it's still a first book and so I'm not expecting a miracle

so as my first novel is coming up on 50 rejections I was planning to trunk it and move on. I have already started a new novel. But now i'm sort of thinking, why trunk it? I may as well just self publish right?
