We are living all that science/dystopian fiction you love to watch. How about we all become the main characters of the story and wreak some havoc on the authority?

After spending last week writing about arts censorship, it's occurred to me that art making that critiques power, that celebrates diversity can now be considered an act of resistance. And audience members supporting art is even more important now

My first and definitely last time working with the Los Angeles Times. Editing out the most urgent point of an OpEd in the minutes before sending to press while then also assigning a title and image that suggest an argument entirely opposite to the author’s clear intent is pretty shitty.

This is really horrifying - The ability to strip non-profits of tax exempt status for “Groups supporting terrorism.” Imagine a theater producing a play critical of the the administration called out for it’s perceived “terrorist” content.

Indeed. When they rounded up the Japanese Americans, myself and my family included, for internment during WWII out of fear over Japanese spies and saboteurs, two thirds of us were U.S. citizens. Don’t think it won’t happen again when they come for the “undocumented.”
