I really hate that map of North America where they’ve attached a handful of blue states to Canada and are like “this is the new country we should have.” 1) Canada doesn’t want us. 2) We’re just gonna leave people in Red State Hell due to where they’re geographically located? Not a good look.

We trust our eyes and ears. We trust locals, not corrupt federal officials or "news" outlets. We listen to what people say is happening in their city. We don't let other people think for us.

We went to a craft fair at a local high school today. Apparently it's the largest craft fair in the city, and is the ENTIRE first floor of the high school. 300+ vendors. Lots of fun stuff, though also disappointed at how many booths were just AI images slapped onto tumblers, shirts, towels, etc.

“I don’t like to read a series until it’s done.” Fine. Buy the book now, and don’t read it until the other ones come out. But if you want this series to be finished, someone needs to buy the early books.

I'm trying to find a cover of Gold Dust Woman that I heard who knows how long ago. It's not the Hole cover (which is a favorite), but it does have that more aggressive feel. Was it a metal cover? Maybe? Does anyone have a favorite Gold Dust Woman cover?

Book events can be full of beautiful moments, but also they're at least 50% rejection. Often more. For hours, for 2-3 days. So if it's not your thing, just thank the writer and move along. You don't need to tell them why you think their work is "gross" or what they're doing wrong.

Did a brewery book event today with four other authors. Didn't sell a single book (not sure if anyone did). This is officially the worst event I've ever done, sales wise. A year ago this would have devastated me. Today I'm not happy, but I know it was the event, not me. Not my books.

I've been redoing the spare room with the intention of making it into a place I can go write and also take pictures and film content. About halfway done, but stalling, because when it's done I will no longer be able to use "I have nowhere to film" as an excuse for why I don't make video content.

Doing image searches for mood boards tonight, and the proliferation of AI slop is very annoying. It's not good, I can tell it's AI, but there's so much of it and it's burying everything else.

I have spent far too much of my adult life frustrated by things I have very little control over but are still my problem.

We are still crisis-ing! But we're getting somewhere. And I spent some quality time editing the last couple days. Still moving forward is what counts, right?
