Book-loving, cat-adoring human. Exuberantly not normal. Trying my best to be kind.
My neurologist informed me today that insurance will continue to approve my regular treatments for pain (good!) but they want me to have a checkup with him after EVERY treatment. (That is not normal. Like, 1-2x a year, sure.) He then informed me Trump shut down telehealth in Sept.

Oof. "It is difficult to imagine why a man already battling a degenerative illness would continue to fight so publicly for recognition, unless he felt he had nothing left to lose."

TFW the Japanese light novel you want to read DOES have an official translation, and it IS visible in the inter-library catalog, but when you try to request it, it's not available for ILL 😭

Me: I am enjoying this anime a lot, I can't decide what it is about it. The art and visuals? The LGBT overtones? The well-trimmed story? Wikipedia: creator says she was inspired by Studio Ghibli and Sailor Moon. Me: That'll be it.

Earlier this week Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance — a public-private partnership that does more than any other organization to get vaccines to people in poor countries — reported that its vaccines saved a record-breaking 1.7 million people in 2024. That’s 400,000 more lives saved than in 2023.

There are so many catch-22s with disability. Like: Disability makes every day different for me: I may wake up in pain, or I may wake up feeling incredible. Disability ALSO makes it hard for me to handle the lack of a routine due to my unpredictable body 😅

Behold, the bunny army! I've gotten into origami lately, and for an upcoming party my mom asked if I could make bunny party favors. They don't get any less cute with time.

Somedays, I just wish all doctors would be willing to say, "I'm sorry," or, "It turns out I'm wrong."

Man, I hate the whole "for legal reasons, don't post about this online." My dude, I wanted to get internet strangers' thoughts on this and you are cramping my style. 😂

They were careless people, Tom and Daisy- they smashed up things and creatures and then retreated back into their money or their vast carelessness or whatever it was that kept them together, and let other people clean up the mess they had made. -FS Fitzgerald, The Great Gatsby, published 4/10/1925.

I love Telehealth for many, many reasons. Some of them: 1. The doctors are less likely to be late 2. When they are late, it's fine, because I'm sitting at home and can get things done

An unforeseen problem when I decided to grow out my hair: I constantly freak out that there are spiders crawling on my arms, when it's just loose hairs. (Look, spiders are unlikely, but that hasn't stopped those suckers in the past.)

There are some things you don't like thinking about, remembering, or feeling. That can be just as valid as forcing yourself to acknowledge, feel, or ponder uncomfortable truths.

Just started my foray into finding LGBT media on non-mainstream streaming sites, (namely GagaOoLala). The lesbian short film,
Boss In Love
, was cute! Simple and sweet story, lacking the cringe that makes me leery of many independent films. I'm hoping there's more cute lesbian stuff for me to find.
