NZANS Margaret Thompson died 1921 from TB contracted during her short service. She battled for pension payments & suitable care. Sadly she died before she could be in a sanatorium but had treatment at home at her request. She’s buried around the corner from me. May she RIP. I often say hi to her😢🇳🇿

1 sad incidental finding I have uncovered in my #HistNursing research is that the #ww1 nurses who committed suicide did so 10-20 years later & most went off somewhere private. Soldiers tended to do it dramatically in front of family within months of returning😢still more to understand here
