Oops, I got a little too lost in the D&D worldbuilding sauce for this desert adventure. It's been too much fun fusing environmental science shenanigans with fantasy nonsense, though. I took black lung and asked the question: what if they inhaled glowing dust falling from a crack in the sky instead?

One of the stretch goals we didn't get to with Tome of Intangible Treasures II was a companion adventure inspired by its Ritual system. Well, I'm doing it anyway in collaboration with Andie of @margomods.bsky.social and Iris from @greengobletgames.bsky.social!

I was nodding along to James Introcaso on YouTube as he listed off classic antagonists in upcoming Draw Steel adventures... until he said one of them takes you to the SUN? I mean.. yes, some GMs want to throw their players into the sun, but I don't think they meant it like that! I can't wait 👀

In today's D&D writing fugue, I made a casual reference to plato's cave to fuel some cosmic horror with a lonely god on the underside of reality. I'd say today's going pretty well!

Daggerheart's Witherwild campaign frame is among my favorite settings I've ever had the pleasure to run a game in. Two sessions in, and two players already told me it's their favorite game/table they've ever been a part of, and a huge part of that is just how cool the baseline campaign frame is.

Look, all I'm saying is the movie Weapons would make *such* a good D&D one-shot.

Sending out a TTRPG adventure feels like hurrying up to wait and see how it's received. There are such big gaps between the release, the forming of opinions by people playing it in the wild, and the bubbling up of those opinions in a way that I actually *maybe* get to hear 😆 I hope people like it!

I'm consistently impressed with how easy it is to slip into the vibe and mindset of the Daggerheart Witherwild campaign frame. The writing, design, and vibes are immaculate. I am so excited to start my home campaign in this setting this upcoming Sunday!

New D&D villain archetype: vampires that run banks. They own the houses through mortgages, so they have implicit invitations to enter any of the homes. Anyways, you can topple them and take their blood money for yourself.

Huge fan of @dailydael.bsky.social's take on weather in TTRPGs on this week's Eldritch Lorecast episode. Crunch and randomness for weather usually just gets in the way for me. TL;DR: "either don't do weather at all, or use it narratively [...] if you use fog it will create a mysterious tone".

I'm thinking about RP in D&D today because I noticed a compulsive behavior I have, no matter what game I'm in. Once I know what makes people at the table laugh, it's so hard for me to resist chasing that high.

I think people underestimate their ability to help support a game just by telling a friend about it. If I hear a designer talk about their game, I'm not usually convinced. If my friend Will tells me to check out a game, I'm looking. Your words, oftentimes, are just as powerful as your wallet.

Just wrapped my Draw Steel playtest for the Great Thaw of Gryzmithrak Spire and the fight against the newborn calamity dragon on the other side of a cavern littered with kobolds and tiny bear traps on strings was *awesome*. One step closer to release!

Woke up still obsessed with Daggerheart's Witherwild, which means I'm almost certainly running or writing something for it eventually. The beautiful thing about these campaign frames is that they're juicy enough to get you going AND small enough to hold the entire thing in your head.

I've been cooking on a Draw Steel adventure for some time now, and it's finally a full draft. Some playtesting to do and things to clean up, but the playtest scheduling has begun! Just a few more steps to take before it's released into the wild 👀
