Now that the Giants have (unofficially) hired John Harbaugh, I'd like to thank my writing partner for making sure I woke up at midnight to catch the news. Now he thinks it's time for a nap.

Former Ravens offensive coordinator Todd Monken is expected to join John Harbaugh in New York with the Giants, per source. This has always been the plan.

The Giants will speak with John Harbaugh today to discuss potential staff hires and next steps. As the first team to make a hire this cycle, the organization plans to conduct due diligence on top OC and DC candidates before finalizing its staff structure.

I'm not saying I want Mike McDaniel to be the Giants' next HC, but I do think their offensive roster could be fascinating with him running it. They'd either need a lot more speed or to get something out of Slayton and Hyatt, but the potential is really interesting.

Carter reminds me so much of 2010 vintage JPP. Oozing potential, but hadn't quite put it together yet and was called a bust by fans... until he turned it on at the end of the year after Osi went down. Get him the right coaches and he's going to be the monster he was drafted to be.
