Many thanks to the
@ottawacitizen.com
and the
@cmaj.ca
for their story today on the dangers of pervasive gambling promotion, and to Dr. Kelly for sharing his story. My legislation Bill S-211 aims to create a national framework around these ads, which prioritizes protection over profits.

It was an honour as a senator to support and speak today at the World Blind Golf Championships hosted in Simcoe (Renton). Fifteen countries, 115 athletes and their guides. An incredible display of the power of sport.

Grateful to be in Amsterdam as we proudly remember the liberation of Apeldoorn by the 5th Canadian Armoured Division in April 1945, 80 years ago. Looking forward to the annual Aprilfeesten and the upcoming King's birthday as well! And as always, the tulips are welcome this time of year.

It was an honour to give the opening address at the
@coe.int
Macolin Community Conference in Ottawa this week. The explosion of online gambling & promotion has increased the odds of match manipulation at every level of sport. More collaboration with our international peers to counter this threat.

As gambling ads contiue unabated in Ontario, the rest of Canada is exposed and suffers the resultant harms as well. I encourage all political parties in the Ontario election to commit to do more to put the appropriate guardrails on gambling promotion.
