Being disabled/chronically ill means constantly balancing two impossible tasks: convincing the state/doctors that you’re “disabled/sick enough” to deserve help and convincing everyone else that you’re “well enough” to be worth keeping around.

As I say again and again - no one expects quite the horrific mix of indescribable tedium and intolerable body horror that is ongoing illness and how the tedium is a key component of the horror.

I loved your pedantic breakdown of If We Were Villains bc when I read it it was clear to me that the author had no idea how production actually works (there… are no SM or costuming or set design majors?) so it was gratifying to learn i wasn’t the only one annoyed haha

Casually thinking about how a pandemic/increase in the number of disabled people seems to be consistently followed by an increase in eugenicist policies and a rise in facism. Delightful, just delightful.

Wait time for a disabled person to access medically assisted death in Canada? 3 months A specialist for TREATABLE conditions? 12-18 months Affordable housing? Multiple years Palliative care, psychiatric care & pain management? Good luck. This is why we’re scared. Via

I’m half way through Say Nothing, which I think is really really well written, and it has me thinking about how all of the screenplays/plays I like the most utilize a story frame.

I have a tear in my shoulder and when it’s acting up it makes my whole arm feel weak, like a little baby bird with a broken wing. 0/10, do not recommend, i would like a refund on this body.

I spent most of my twenties wishing for a creative partner to make things with and now suddenly I have two! I'm not quite sure how that happened but I'm very grateful.

I am sad to leave twitter because of all the writing community and disabled community (RIP NEISvoid 🙁) that used to be easy to access over there, but to be honest it's been hard to pick through the fire hose of the new algorithm there for a while to find stuff that matters. So here I am!
