The fucking fireworks have just begun again. 😭😭😭 when will they stop? Will Crumble ever have a night when she’s not a trembling wreck? It’s been every single night since September. Can we just ban fireworks once and for all?

We’ve been in Bhutan for three days and three nights and it’s quite frankly blowing my mind. This country is beautiful and its people are incredibly kind. They are grateful for the tourists that come and go out of their way to make them feel comfortable and at home. (1/?)

Shout out to
@neheritagelib.bsky.social
for inspiring my half marathon course today. With the rich industrial heritage of the Tyne in my mind I had a beautiful run in today’s weather. And a great coffee and bagel in St Peter’s at the end

Steel Magnolias at The People’s Theatre
The North East is blessed with a raft of great theatres, but, perhaps unusually, we also have a couple of genuinely lovely amateur spaces. I had my first trip to The Little Theatre in Gateshead ear…

I love this analogy from Eurelectric: Renewables are like owning a house. It’s an investment and you keep the benefit. Fossil fuel based energy is like renting. You’re sinking money, especially when you don’t have your own fossil resources.

A lovely day spent walking along the Durham Heritage Coast. Walking from Noses Point, south to Beacon Hill and back.

Anyone else on Bluesky at

today? Some great sessions on the security of national critical infrastructure, as well as learning about what children want from AI, including how it can be used to protect the environment

Sometimes we can get her to sit still long enough to pose for the camera. Usually by holding a treat in front of her off camera 😅

Crumble absolutely adores the beach. She’s now curled up on the sofa snoring like a freight train.

It was an honor to sign the guest book in the home of Anne Frank. I was here as a younger man and thought about her life as a dark chapter of history. Today, I can’t help but think of her story as one of caution. Our world is fragile, and it’s incumbent on us not to break it.

Crumble's first ever venture into the field without her harness on. Because I broke it about 5 minutes before.
