I’m currently obsessed. Have only seen Mrs B once, fleetingly this evening, but the nest looks fully formed. Mr B has been skulking near their hedge entrance this afternoon. Does that look like an anxious ‘father-to-be’ kind of face? Will she be laying soon? I feel very invested.

Part way through recording this song, ‘The River’. It's about enduring love inspired by an elderly couple I observed from a few seats away, on a train journey in 24. Time to start playing it live, so I've been practising. I’d like to add some trumpet. Eventually. Trumpeter suggestions, anyone?

It is with deep sadness that I share the news that we lost my beautiful brother Dave yesterday, suddenly and very unexpectedly from a heart attack. Son, brother, husband, uncle, and friend, he will be sorely missed by many. I'll probably be a little bit quiet on here for a while.
