Digging though old computer parts led me down a YouTube rabbit hole where I stumbled on an LGR about this thing that I have that I had no idea was worth freaking $400 on eBay now.

A Haswell i7 and RX580 in a 21-year-old case where the PSU was top-mounted and cable management didn't exist.

Since upgrading my PC, I had a 13 year old motherboard and 8 year old GPU lying around, I decided to rehome them into this PC case that's been with me since I purchased it at Fry's in Fremont in 2004. Probably the earliest version of "RGB" on a PC case...

absolutely bizarre... but at this point, not surprising in the least... But folks will still try to talk themselves into staying there because they rather keep their "large number following"

The new build. reusing my 10 -year-old case and 13-year-old PSU. The Corsair Vengeance RGB RAM looks nice, but it won't run at 3000mhz even with EXPO enabled. Only option Newegg has in a combo deal, otherwise I would have gone with some Teamgroup or G-Skill. I saved ten bucks for what?

I haven't built a new PC in 13 years, but I guess RAM manufacturers can just print speeds on their packaging that their RAM won't POST at and it's cool? Also, why do they put that protective peel-off thin cellophane on every computer component now? Like I care if I scratch a heatsink???
