Just watched Oxford win their first game of the season against previously unbeaten Bristol City. Early signs are that this could be a very open Championship season, which means it could be a lot of fun! #wxmafc

I think we made it clear in commentary last night that we were both clear it was a penalty. I play as defender. If I move towards a goal bound shot, leading with my arm, and the ball hits it and deflects away, I know I’ve taken a big gamble. Keeper was waiting behind, why do that?

Next week will see the inaugural Gary Speed Cup tournament staged in north Wales. The National U16’s teams from Wales, Japan, Gibraltar and Northern Ireland will be meeting across a week. It’s being organised by the FA of Wales. You can go along to support or there’ll be a livestream option.

Those socks the players now wear, the ankle ones, I wear those as well. Tru Sox do them. They also make rally good boots and I’d been wearing a pair to play for the last 3 seasons before they split. My replacements have arrived, they’ll be match ready for game #1!

I’m VP of Ruabon Rovers FC, the team in the village where I grew up in north Wales, a few miles down the road from Wrexham. The village played a big part in the history of Welsh football. The club’s got ambitious plans to grow and has just launched this fundraiser lottery. I’ve signed up!
