HOS team members have been in London this week to receive a national award recognising excellence in local ornithology. Every year the Marsh Charitable Trust and the British Trust for Ornithology select a local organisation to receive the distinction based on their achievements.

I was about to give up in the miserable weather on Saturday when I noticed an unusually large roost of gulls on Keyhaven Lagoon. Persistence led to patch gold - Bonaparte's Gull! Appears to be the 1st for the reserve. #patchbirding #ukbirding #hantsbirds

It’s looking good this year for Ringed Plovers on Hayling Is in our enclosure. We’ve now found 5 nests and yesterday had our first chicks, the earliest by about 3 weeks since we started the project.
