Well, I've been too stressed to write these last three weeks. I tried the "it's just a draft" thing but I can't turn a blind eye to lackluster prose. Let's hope better days are coming.

This will expose my age. My favorite book is The Man in the Maze by Robert Silverberg. It was the first sci-fi book I read where the heroes are not all good, the villains are not that bad. The "bad guy" wants to save the human race. The "good guy" just wants to die in peace. A masterpiece.

I think I've found the opposite of inspiration. Knock knock.

It's always the "what if". What if a universal cure would rob you of who you are? (The Idun Variant) What if our descendants in the far distant future would want to learn about us? (sudo) What if an ex terrorist would become the world's best hope to defeat a deadly pandemic (The Pain)

But... But what if I don't like romantasy?

So *obviously* today I wrote the first chapter of a new sci-fi book that's been brewing in my mind because why the hell not.

I think I'm unlikely to sell my book because it doesn't really belong on any single shelf. Genre-bending is probably better left to the veteran writers.

Life is a series of rejections with a a few successes sprinkled on top. (Got a couple of form rejections just now).
