turns out handwriting notes for 2 hours before bed 4 times in the past week and then trying to do your #ManipulatingObjectsOnScreen job was actually a bad combination fellas

can't recommend enough having a place to log your first thoughts on whatever art you've interacted with that compels you to elaborate your thoughts in a private space not meant ever to be shared or publicised intentionally. write to understand & express your own ideas for yourself primarily

finally moved my reading spreadsheet off g*ogle sheets into libreoffice and after some tweaking it looks IDENNNTICALLL. everyone do this right now

thinking about this again because i'm 30 pages into my (uncompleted) notes on akuheki and have considering how much of my note taking is simply me explaining/interrogating the story beats and character motivations/behaviours to myself so that I have a full comprehension when i DO write analysis

man... just the breadth of ways that one could use panels and speech bubbles and the shapes they make and the ways that they can be used to depict something beyond the art/words within them....

divesting from my digital spreadsheet into what is essentially a spreadsheet inside a notebook. i don't know how far i will end up taking this endeavour... will my entire reading spreadsheet become various notebooks? a little scary to think about
