positive steps forward in the mental preparation of what originally was the 'next chapter' of plan bee. known for years it would be too long to post as one chapter, so it's getting separated out (probably into more sections than this!), and this feels like a useful positive step for me

do you know what's so absurd about my flavour of writing/slow burn, is that i can write 100k+ of a fic and still wonder as i'm writing something if i'm missing out on writing some dynamic/relationship and if i've dived into some plot or something too quickly

i'm at that point in the writing process again where a chapter is like 75% of the way done but the well feels dry and everything i write i have no sense of whether it's any good or not

There are certain scenes in Every Time a Bell Rings that I've really enjoyed filling in the subtext or building on top my own canon for the universe, but others I'm just lifting dialogue word for word from the film cos like. Sometimes it's just too good!

In a combination effort of keeping myself accountable, and trying to pull back the curtain on the solitary endeavour of writing, I have decided to post my word counts at the end of the month. January 2025 I was able to get down 12,905 words across a couple of WIPs!

I will say the biggest problem with writing slow burn stuff (on top of it just taking a stupid amount of time) is worrying that when you do finally get to the juicy stuff, that people will read it and be like oh that wasn't worth the build
