Picked up Wine Cellar, was able to have designer @andrewstiles.bsky.social sign it and I played today at #Origins2025. Love bidding games and auction games with fixed bid amounts are especially enjoyable. This was a nice quicker entry into that realm. I think I’ll do the 3 round variant mostly.🍷

Sometimes I feel down and the non-game design parts of life overwhelm me. I know how privileged I am, and I’m not asking for sympathy. Only acknowledging life can be hard for all of us. Be kind to everyone. Maybe down days are less likely to linger.

I’ve been having undue anxiety about getting enough stuff ready for GAMA. I’ll have Fish Tank 🐠 , Magic Show 🪄 , Safe n Snug 🐧 , Thirst for Knowledge 📕 , Two Lines of Tulips 🌷 , (5 games to pitch) plus some prototypes. I need to remind myself that’s enough. It’s enough dammit.

I guess I've checked another box on the professional game designer checklist. Having a signed game returned to you unpublished. I'm a bit sad, I don't doubt it will be signed again. Just a matter of who, but still... back to the pitching process taking time away from new games that need to be shown.

TantrumCon was amazing this year. The people that run it are amazing! I got to see so many people I already enjoy and met so many others I will start looking forward to seeing again next year. I love that it's a con I can look forward to in January every year.

I took all of December off from Game Design, and now it's a bit hard to get back into the rituals. I keep finding other things to work on, but I'm feeling guilty about lack of design progress now. Like today I built my new Office Chair, Cleaned and Organized the office. It's Different Progress.

Random thought: is Grey, the color of Greytness? The G.O.A.T of colors? The Greytest of all time?
