It's been so hard to be active on here. Between Everwild's cancellation, Perfect Dark's cancellation, Gregg Mayles's departure, Sea of Thieves's uninspiring season 17, and the general state of Playtonic, it feels akin to 2010 all over again. The Rarenaisance feels over, and I've been very sad.

Rolled credits on Yooka-Replaylee! What a fantastic remake - it looks, plays, and sounds infinitely better than the original. The additions were welcome and the changes were thoughtful and made the experience more enjoyable. I loved the experience start to finish. I give it a 5/10 out of 11/20.

Five Down. Galleon Galaxy remains one of my favorite levels, based mostly on vibes. The color palette and music make it a joy to explore. And the galleon transformation is my favorite in the game. I struggled hard with the Kartos challenge, but got there eventually. Fun all around! 5 out of 10.

Shoutout to Gregg Mayles, the best footgolf coach a guy could ask for.

PROTIP: Rapidly fart underwater to swim faster.

Four down. Capital Cashino is great! It felt like a trip to a real entertainment center with lots of side games for challenges. And then they let you change into an attack helicopter for some weird reason. And the fan art gallery is spectacular. Fantastic all around! 5 out of 10.

Three down. Moodymaze Marsh was a very pleasant surprise with its new lighting and glowing colors around the level. It changed it from dark and confusing to bright and delightful. Enjoyed all of the platforming challenges and new Pagie challenges. Struggled finding 3 Jiggys. 5 out of 10.

After waiting several days to be collected by Banjo and Kazooie, an orange Jinjo was found dead on top of a large rock somewhere. paletteswap.site/dif...

Two down. Man I love the atmosphere of this level. And the Icymetric Palace is truly the Ultimate throwback. I feel the snowplow is still underutilized, but I enjoyed the little red coin race they added. Also I still love the little glow cavern! 5 out of 10

One down. This game is amazing! Fixes nearly every issue I had with the original (and I was an apologist). Loving all of the new Pagies and the little Jiggy pieces. Also love Rextro's minigame glow-up! 5 out of 10.

I've already seen "whoa" spelled both correctly and as "woah" in Yooka-Replaylee. 5 out of 10.

Played through the Yooka-Replaylee demo for a second time this morning. It sucks that this whole launch is tainted, because this game truly looks and feels wonderful. The irony of corporate bullshit ruining a game about the evil of corporate bullshit. I can't wait to play more Rextro levels

I work in a middle school as the technology coordinator. Today I had a 6th grader - brand new student who I have never met and who doesn't know me - come to me to report that he was having iPad issues. Long story short, he was trying to load a SNES emulator to play Donkey Kong Country 2 in Safari. 🥹

It's always great to see a friend land on their feet. I am genuinely happy to see this! It still sucks that things went down the way they did, and my heart is still heavy thinking about all of the other talent that was let go and hasn't been so lucky.

For the first time in all my years playing @seaofthieves.com, I ran into not only a fellow Blue Hat wearer, but a fellow Golden Hour Sails bearer. What a serendipitous moment sailing into Plunder Outpost and seeing them! Fun times and shenanigans ensued!

Had a RadioShack Tandy 1000 SL/2. That badboy had a 4.77 mHz CPU and a mind-bogglingly huge 20 MB hard drive in addition to 3.5" and 5 1/4" floppy drives. It could display 16 colors and had a built-in speaker. Didn't have games, but we had a disk with this Christmas video demo that blew my damn mind

Today is the 28th anniversary of GoldenEye 007 on the Nintendo 64! It released in the US on August 25th, 1997. Japan got it first on the 23rd, while Europe had to wait until November 7th.
