My friend Alisha lost her mother in the cruelest way possible. The killer never told her where the body was. She was denied a final goodbye. He's allowed to move forward, she'll never get the chance. Refusing to say where the body is shows no remorse.

For the first time, I can say with confidence that the newest generation of HelloBike has a serious challenger. On smooth roads, blue still takes it because it's lighter & quicker. Everywhere else, I think we have a new champion.

There's a weird thing in UK politics. Labour treats Reform as largely correct on the merits but bad at implementation. It treats the Greens as wrong on the merits and so good at implementation they will destroy the country. But that's... the opposite of how their actual likely voters feel?

Chester's ability to simultaneously house both the most stunning examples of British architecture alongside the the ugliest never ceases to amaze me. This place would have York & Edinburgh levels of tourism if they didn't build anything post war.

Popped to Liscard earlier to grab some cheap Carhartt. When I was younger I saw Liscard on the front of a bus & asked my Dad what it meant & he said 'nothing'. Thought for years as a kid that 'Liscard' meant a bus was out of service.

When I was 10 my 16 yr old neighbour killed a man. A father. No reason at all. Not someone he knew. Didn't see his face. Just at random. Pure chance. The house we lived in is gone now, replaced with new builds. My neighbour served four years. His brothers were taken by social services soon after.

The world feels increasingly fucked & it hurts me to think about it too much. But I take selfish solace in the fact that I'm eating hotpot over the hob & listening to Geese with my favourite person, in the glow of lights I once dreamed of but never thought I'd live near.

We ride rental bikes of a morning to the local metro station. This morning, for some reason, Shishi's phone wouldn't scan the bike. Seeing us struggling & hearing us discuss it, the guy putting the bikes out scans one & hands it to her for free. Most people you'll ever meet are nice.

It sure would be awkward if the World's media had tripped over themselves rushing to praise an account that compares an entire people to monkeys. That really would be quite awkward.

ICE murdered RenΓ©e Good in broad daylight. Less than 3 weeks later, they killed Alex Pretti, shooting him 10 times. Every day, we watch as people are ripped from their cars, their homes, their lives. We can't allow ourselves to look away from this cruelty. Abolish ICE.

We are currently at that stage in life where we're now middle class enough to own a Universal Studios annual pass, but still working class enough to make sure we absolutely get our money's worth & then some. Which is why we've now been 4 times in two months, and will be back at least twice in Feb.

I've long suspected my rollercoaster tastes are a little unconventional - many of my favourites in the world (The Smiler & Swarm, especially) do not seem all that well loved, or even liked, by many enthusiasts I confirmed this this weekend by riding my 3 favourite Beijing coasters in one day...

After two relatively simple years of long, easily-shapen animals in the snake & dragon, the horse is a little more difficult to incorporate into the numbers. Two main approaches so far - use it as the 2, or write the numbers in strokes of the horse's tail like an old paint brush

Well since we're doing 2016 nostalgia - it was my first year in China, & while life is much easier now, I do miss every day being a discovery. I'd never top up my phone back then. Rarely used it. I'd stuff 1RMB notes in my pocket & hop on random buses through εΌεζ΅©ηΉ & ε 倴 on my days off.

Call me old-fashioned, but following evidence-based policy on reducing alcohol limits to reduce "killing off" pedestrians and other road users seems pretty sensible. It's not actually obligatory to drink booze in a pub, plenty of modern non-alcoholic options. Also let's improve walking routes!
