We just kicked off the 3rd Trilogue on the Return Regulation. People with no right to stay in the European Union must be returned effectively. This is what the new rules will provide: more control over who can come to the EU, who can stay, and who must leave.

Great exchange with Michael Schmid, President of Eurostat. Strong cooperation between Eurojust & Europol is one of the key elements in view of the upcoming revision of both mandates. Eurojust has a key role to play in enabling the judiciary to keep pace with modern organised crime.

Today’s fourth trilogue on the CSA Regulation brought good progress toward finding a long-term solution to the horrific crime of child sexual abuse. We urge the Council and the Parliament to move forward swiftly and welcome that the next trilogue will still take place in June.

Today, the @europaparl.europa.eu voted on the establishment of the EU Talent Pool.   With it, we bring together job vacancies from employers with applicants from non-EU countries. This is part of our EU strategy to better manage migration and make Europe more competitive.

Today, I had a call with Pakistan’s Minister of Interior Mohsin Naqvi. We discussed the latest developments in the Middle East and the overall security landscape in the region. We also discussed strengthening our cooperation on migration & security. #EUPakistan

Last Saturday we welcomed European Commissioner Magnus Brunner at CSH. Together with Stefan Thurner, Philipp Marxgut, Ljubica Nedelkoska, Frank Neffke & Bernhard Haslhofer, we discussed how complexity science and data can inform policy in areas including cybercrime, migration & supply chains.
