Great exchange with Michael Schmid, President of Eurostat. Strong cooperation between Eurojust & Europol is one of the key elements in view of the upcoming revision of both mandates. Eurojust has a key role to play in enabling the judiciary to keep pace with modern organised crime.

Today’s fourth trilogue on the CSA Regulation brought good progress toward finding a long-term solution to the horrific crime of child sexual abuse. We urge the Council and the Parliament to move forward swiftly and welcome that the next trilogue will still take place in June.

Europe accounts for the highest volume of child sexual abuse material globally. We heavily rely on reports from the US - nearly 950,000 were shared with us in 2025 alone. They enable law enforcement in the EU to rescue children and hold perpetrators accountable.

The Entry/Exit System has been running for 7 months and is operating across all Member States. 66 million registrations have been recorded, 32 000 refusals issued, including 800 identified security threats. Protecting European citizens remains our top priority.

Very positive sign from Armenia today - the first visa liberalisation progress report shows Armenia is taking effective steps to strengthen travel document security and border management. These are key requirements of the visa liberalisation process.

Today, I was in Belgrade to discuss steps for closer alignment of Serbia to EU standards on Rule of Law, security and migration, within the framework of its accession process.
