VC113 Guernsey - BINGO! Striped Hawk-moth, two, new for garden and pristine. Also Clifden Nonpareil - very please to see that as I had none last year. They are flighty - coudn't get a shot of the underwing. Scarce-bordered Straw NFG I think and a 4-spotted Footman. Awaiting ID on a couple. 237/52 😊

Dusky Scalloped Oak trapped on Corbiere cliffs a couple of nights ago with @andym105.bsky.social I've been wanting to see this Guernsey speciality for a very long time, but it only lives on the south coast cliffs in small numbers and so is hard to find.

VC113 #Guernsey 21st August. Bordered Straw, Palpita vitrealis - those wings are translucent, Spectacle - I'm reasonably confident NFG and not common in the island unlike Dark spectacle, and possibly Cydia splendana. 81/36 much lower count with northerly winds. #teammoth #mothsmatter

@mothiduk.bsky.social VC113 Guernsey from last night, 28th May. Obsidentify is 100% Borkhausenia fuscescens, but the field guide only describles dark spots, not pale ones, also the moth in the photo has longer antennae. Wing length 5mm. I'm stumped!

145/40 from VC113 Guernsey last night. If Middle-barred Minor can be confirmed, that's a NFG as was Musotima nitidalis and Common White Wave. I don't think it's really new, I'm improving my ID skills, Obsidentify is helpful although I do always check the field guides as well. NFY Orange Footman.
