My friends & I wrote a holiday mmm romance where two former best friends go to help another with his Christmas tree farm. They haven’t seen each other since they kissed in college and don’t talk to each other anymore. And there’s only one bed so they all need to cuddle. Our version of hallmark.

My biggest delusion is that someday I will have hours of uninterrupted writing time in a garret in Paris. With hot tea and a snoozing cat. Reality: I get ten stolen minutes to write a few sentences before someone wants my attention. I just string those words together and hope for the best.

I’ve spent all week watching my kid in the school play, & it strikes me how similar all creative processes are. Whether writing or painting or putting on a play, at the beginning it’s a mess that doesn’t look like what it’s supposed to be. The trick is to hang on long enough until it becomes itself
