When I go to the office and work from just my laptop what I miss the most isn't the big monitor - it's my streamdeck with all the shortcut buttons. At first I just used it for teams calls, then it slowly spiraled out.

Technology is wild. Last night my spouse texted a photo of a check engine light when she arrived in town. When yoga ended an hour later, I had showered, drove into town, pulled codes, found the parts available in town and online, and confirmed we would be able to limp the car 25min back home.

I took a week off of work to recharge and make time to reflect. I’ve had countless amazing opportunities to learn, struggle, grow, and succeed the last few years- it’s been wonderful and challenging. Enough about that - I did fun projects on my time off.

Inching closer to the weekend and a 1-week vacation

At a highly impressionable age of youth, my mother told me not to count my chickens before they hatch when I excitedly insisted that my hamster was pregnant. A few days later I learned the incorrectly lesson when 7 baby hamsters arrived and as a result I blame my insufferable optimism on hamsters.

Maybe that meeting could have been an email, but at least my lap stayed warm.

We’re fostering a pair of Bostons and they’re wonderful little ladies with spurts of chaotic energy and periods of coach loafing. Quincy is occasionally asleep on my lap during work and Lynn is a huge fan of fetch.
