Twitter is useful solely to counter disinformation and its former use as a personalized social media is dead. if you use it you should use it like 4chan: anonymous, attack, insult etc. Hit it with spam bots; make it un-usable. But nobody who wasnt already on twitter is trying it anymore, its dead.

This video has inspired me to go pick up a biography about Harriet Tubman. I had no idea how much she had done, the history I was taught made it sound like she was little more than a guide, but it turns out she was way more badass.

Saying that something was "so betamax unicorn" simply meant that while it did have impossible beauty and innocence it would ultimately become obsolete for refusing to sacrifice quality in favor of improved data storage

The final piece of advice I would like to give to new folks tonight is that Bluesky will be what you make of it. When I came over from the former Twitter, I resolved to be more kind to others here than I was over there. That choice has made being here so much better. Keep it in mind for yourself.

be patient with the zoomers. they are coming of age in a time when the glory days of posting have already passed. they watched the gold rush in full swing, but by the time they were old enough to type every post had already been written. they were born into the grave.

This twitter ban in Brazil was the perfect opportunity for us, everyday users, to experience what a normal and healthy social network looks like, I'm definitely NOT coming back to that hellhole even if it comes back, which doesn't look like it's gonna happen anyways.

Just like none of the bold investigators backfilling Joe Biden's feeble debate performance with punchy anonymous quotes have ever figured out why Trump was rushed to Walter Reed, claimed he wanted a spur-of-the-moment weekend checkup, and a year later declared that he had NOT had a series of strokes
